Graduation Information

The Mt. Anthony Union High School Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2021 will look different than celebrations in the past. Please make sure to read all of the information below to make sure that you understand exactly what will be happening on graduation day. 
Seniors will come to a drive through outside the cafeteria on May 19 from 9-3 to pick up their cap, gown, yard sign, yearbook, and senior gift. Students may pick up their four tickets starting on June 1 in the Main Office. These tickets will be issued to graduating seniors onlyThis event is not open to the public. After arriving at the event you will exchange your ticket for a wristband. 
The graduation ceremony will take place on the Mt. Anthony Union High School football field on Friday, June 11. The event starts at 6pm. Students should arrive at 5pm and line up in alphabetical order outside of the cafeteria. The parking lot will open at 3:30, though all people must remain in their vehicles until the gate opens to enter the football field at 4pm. Parking is limited. We encourage all households to carpool if they are able.
All guests, including the graduates, will be required to wear masks at all times. Every person must have a ticket with them in order to enter the event. Upon entering, guests will exchange their ticket for a wrist band. Any person found on the football field without a wristband will be exited off the premises by the Bennington Police Department. 
While waiting in line to enter the event, please remember to physically distance yourself from others. The only entrance to the field will be the main gate behind the gymnasium. 
During the ceremony, students will receive their diploma cover and gift bag. Diplomas will be mailed after graduation. Graduates are allowed to remove their masks only while walking across stage. No handshakes will be allowed. All guests must stay in their seats during the ceremony. 
Please note that all parties should leave the school premises directly after the ceremony.
All rules will be strictly enforced by school personnel and officers from the Bennington Police Department.

This year's layout is going to be a bit different! Our staff will be sitting on the bleachers with the stage right in front on the track. Principal Nixon will be on the stage, with the graduates sitting in chairs in front of him. Families and spectators will be in chairs behind the graduates. All chairs will be set out on the football field with physical distancing guidelines met. Please do not rearrange chairs or bring your own chairs to the event.

It sure will! A professional photographer will take your picture once you leave the stage and MAU will mail you one free 8x 0. You are allowed to remove your mask while having your picture taken in the designated photo area.
No. There will only be one entrance to the event: behind the high school gymnasium. 
We really don't have too many rules! But the ones that we do have are there so that we can have a safe, outdoor event. If you refuse to follow one of the rules, you will be asked to leave the event. 
First, congratulations on graduating! Second, you will be required to wear your mask at all times EXCEPT the follow: while receiving your diploma, while giving any speeches on the stage, and while having your professional photo taken.
